I like working at Stone Hearth Bakery- there is a lot of good thing about it, as in socializing, even though it’s a job you gotta work, it’s still fun and you can still talk as long as you work. It pays a bit but there is more than one way that it pays. It’s mentally good because there is always something to do. You interact with others on lots of levels. I think it’s fun. I love to work every morning and it’s not the closest thing to a real job; it is a real job. There is the ovens, dough preparation and mixing, there’s bagel rolling, bagel control, there is egging the dough for bread and bagels. There is cutting of dough and weighing of dough, number facts to remember etc. There is packaging bread and bagels. There are lots of important little things to remember. The dough goes through a proofer component which causes the dough to arise quickly. Amongst other things this job gets you prepared with dealing with a number of things and it gives you training experience and skills. The hours are good; not too many but always enough, for me anyway. I like it here and I definitely recommend it to a lot of people. The staff are all good thus far. I find that any doubts of mine have pretty much disappeared. I get along 90% with people here and am happy that it’s that good. The time duration of the program I suppose is ok, but I truly would like to stay here a lot longer and get hired on in the end. Anyhow, it’s a good program. People work at their own pace , we all pretty much get along, it’s a good environment, the staff seem to be pretty reasonable and it gives you some spending money. I don’t really know what else to say. Try it for yourself I like it and I try to look at the good and positive aspect of it all.

I was first introduced to Stone Hearth in 2005. I enjoyed the atmosphere at once. It was a comfortable place to learn some new skills for the job force. It seemed like my time went extremely quick. Before I know it my term was up. The job skills I learned enabled me to receive employment at a sandwich factory. The company moved to PEI. I was looking for work when through the grapevine I was told that I was welcome to come back to Stone Hearth. I was pleased to come back at the end of my term I was hired full time. Management has changed since then. I feel comfortable that with our new management things are going to look up. I would suggest the Stone Hearth program to someone looking to make a positive change in their life.

"My experience at Stone Hearth is very good because they teach you the skills you need to work in a regular job. I have done many different jobs in this place and as an employee at Stone Hearth I have experienced lots of things. Most of all my time here has been lots of fun it also has its ups and downs as well but everybody gets along.

The place as a whole is a training facility which means a whole lot to different people and for all walks of life. Without this program me and many others would not have the opportunity to get the experience we need to enable themselves to employment.

They in part are helpful in certain parts of the activity within the training facility. In conclusion I would hope that the skill I learned here will provide the training I need."
